Finally found my first Silverthorn bush that was fruiting and then found many more. More than I can use! My favorite use so far is to mash them with a fork to get the seeds out, then spread the fruit throughout a pot of steaming brown rice. Adds a flavor somewhat reminiscent of the Iranian's use of ground, dried sumac seeds on rice, which is lemony and tart.....Silverthorn fruits are tart and sweet. I'll be looking forward to February every year from now on thanks to this treat.
